Our species has reached a crossroads: we are irreversibly fusing with technology, creating a new hybrid reality that we neither understand nor know how to master. Because we are online every waking second-checking our Blackberries, networking on Facebook, downloading music on our iPods-we think we are in the driver's seat of technological progression. In truth, the tentacles of technology are taking us down evolutionary paths we have yet to comprehend.
Science House is teaming up with husband and wife writing team Ayesha and Parag Khanna to host a series of salon-style brainstorming sessions on how technology will affect our future. This series will explore the implications of our complex and irreversible tango with science and technology on all aspects of our everyday life. By going beyond 'what will be the new technology?' to probe further into 'what does it mean for me and society', this series will unlock a lively discussion on what new lifestyles and social structures are just around the corner, and how we can make informed choices to remain in control of an uncertain future.
We will be hosting one brainstorming session per month over the course of the coming year-- bringing together experts from all walks of life to spur animated discussion on the future of our society.
There is no cost or obligation associated with attending this event. We merely ask that you bring your intellect and experience-- food and beverages will be provided.
Please let us know if you would be interested in participating in this exciting new venture.
Sincerely,
Science House, and Ayesha and Parag Khanna
